23 Weeks

New baby bump pictures... I seem to be carrying Colter completely in front, from behind I don't really look pregnant.

23 Weeks

23 Weeks

We have started month six, I can hardly believe it. Colter is very active and is getting stronger everyday. Kenneth finally felt him move and has seen his foot stretch out a couple of times.

Last Thursday, February 12, was exactly 4 months till the due date... AHHHH! I am not even close to being prepared. We have changed the nursery theme to vintage western, i.e. from the forties or fifties. I have decided to be adventurous and make the bedding, mainly because I can't bring myself to spend more on Colter's bedding than ours.

19 Weeks

I wanted to post some pictures of my growing belly. The baby this week is the size of a heirloom tomato. I have yet to feel movement (that I know of), hopefully I will feel something soon. We also have an ultrasound on Tuesday, January 20, so stay tuned for a big announcement.

First Pictures!!!

Last Friday, November 7, Kenneth and I went to our first ultra-sound and came away with two pictures and more love for peanut (the baby's nickname). We heard the heartbeat and both cried. We also were able to see peanut kick its legs, which was a little strange since I can not feel it yet. Peanut on Friday was at exactly 9 weeks, so that means as of today, November 13, we are at 9 weeks and 6 days.

This picture is a great picture of peanut's legs.

This picture is peanut's close-up.

First Appointment

Yesterday, November 4, we had our first appointment. Everything is wonderful and right on schedule. We are going for an ultrasound on Friday afternoon to pinpoint exactly how far along I am. Hopefully we will see and possibly hear the baby's heartbeat.  As of right now the estimated delivery date is June 6, so mark your calendars! In some ways everything almost feels more real since the appointment, although being nauseous constantly makes it real as well.

That is pretty much all I have to report... I will try and update this weekend, after the ultrasound.

We are pregnant!!!

WE ARE PREGNANT!!!

I am not very far along, 6 weeks actually.

I wanted to start this blog after keeping up with friends and their lives through their own blogs. I thought this would also be the easiest way to keep all our friends and family informed of the progress of the pregnancy and after.

So.... pregnancy update: I am very tired and find myself sleeping a lot. This is almost a blessing since I am no longer taking any medication. I have been told that it is safe for me to take all but one medication I was previously on for Fibromyalgia, but the baby would go through withdrawals after it is born. I am currently not comfortable with the whole withdrawal thing so I have chosen to not be on medication. I am also starting to experience nausea, not fun. I am told it will go away after the first trimester, which unfortunately  is the week after Thanksgiving, I am hoping dinner will not be an issue. I am going to the doctor November 4th, election day, for my first check-up. My doctor likes to see people between 8 and 10 weeks.

As far as all the fun pregnancy things... we have started looking at names, but have decided not to tell anybody until the baby is born. We just don't want to hear "I knew someone with that name and they were horrible," or "That is my dog's name." I have also began imagining and planning the nursery. Of course if it is a boy it will be decorated with cars and I am thinking for a girl, ladybugs. Kenneth is really excited, of course he wants a boy, and is planning the chopper tricycle he wants to build for it.

My goal for this blog is to update it at least once a week, if not more. Stay tuned....
